Posted on 10:24 AM by Unknown

A plot of the math equation in Google, just copy the below equation and do a Google Search:

1.2+(sqrt(1-sqrt(x^2+y^2)^2)+1-x^2-y^2)*(sin(10000*(x*3+y/5+7))+1/4)

Weather Travel Fashion - a What to Wear Android app

Posted on 3:19 PM by Unknown

Weather Travel Fashion (WTF) Android app (available for iOS also in iTunes link) works as advertised tells us exactly what clothes to wear (for both sexes) based on the current weather conditions. The app gives us different choices to choose from based on temperature, wind, UV and humidity conditions.

The Travel feature is not working now but the other main weather & fashion tabs are working fine. Nice app to have in Smartphones or Tablets.

Once you download the app, select the sex, boy or girl, the app does the rest.

How to avoid PayPal fees for payment receipts?

Posted on 4:27 PM by Unknown

PayPal has modified the "Send Money" option as shown as above, before there were several options to choose from, now it has been simplified. To avoid fees for the receiver, use the second option, "I'm sending money to family or friends". I use this option to transfer money from one PayPal account to another.

Please note you need to have enough balance when you send money from your account.

How to Save Voice Memos in Google Keep via Google Now

Posted on 3:20 PM by Unknown
Open Google Now in Android phones or tablets and click the microphone icon and say "Note" and "the voice message" at the same time like the above example. Once you finish the message you will see the option "Save note", click save, you will see the saved voice message remainder in Google Keep.

For now it works in only Android OS but soon Google Now will be available for iOS, then you can use the similar method.

You can get the Google Keep Android app from the Play store link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.keep

How to fix Chrome browser error 'Error 15 (net::ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED)'

Posted on 4:19 PM by Unknown
This error shows up once in a while in Chrome browser:

"Error 15 (net::ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED)"

To fix this error just go to “Tools” --> “Clear Browsing Data” and select the cache and cookies. After which the website opens without a problem.

If the above fix doesn't work try this update from @ubuntuswitch:

Lasse Heindorff Kristiansen: For anyone Googling this later, so they will find the answer immediately:

1. Close whatever tabs you have open/save whatever needs to be saved, since Chrome might kill any open connections and/or crash.
3. Open a tab in Chrome and copy this into the address field: chrome://net-internals
4. Click the "Sockets" tab
5. Click "Close idle sockets" + "Flush socket pools"

Never Forget a Useful Foreign Language Phrase Again with Phrasebook for Google Translate

Posted on 3:36 PM by Unknown

This is a great feature in Google Translate, with Phrasebook, we can save all the phrases we are translating in Google Translate for referencing it later.

Never Forget a Useful Phrase Again - Introducing Phrasebook for Google Translate - Google Translate Blog: Phrasebook for Google Translate jumpstarts this slow learning process by allowing you to save the most useful phrases to you, for easy reference later on, exactly when you need them. By revisiting the useful phrases in your Phrasebook from time to time, you can turn any brief translation into lasting knowledge.

It’s easy to start using Phrasebook. Simply click the star under the translated text to save the translation in your Phrasebook.

To view your Phrasebook, simply click the Phrasebook icon above the upper-right corner of the box containing the translation.

OneTab extension saves up to 95% memory in Google Chrome

Posted on 8:49 AM by Unknown

Chrome browser uses too much memory sometimes, this OneTab extension claims that it can save up to 95% memory and help reduce clutter. After installing the extension, click the OneTab icon to reduce the multiple tabs into one list and choose either one tab at a time to open or choose all the tabs to open with one click.

"Whenever you find yourself with too many tabs, click the OneTab icon to convert all of your tabs into a list. When you need to access the tabs again, you can either restore them individually or all at once.

When your tabs are in the OneTab list, you will save up to 95% of memory because you will have reduced the number of tabs open in Google Chrome."

I haven't tried this fully to see how efficient it is, but seems to be a good extension for Chrome and tab management. I still wish Google will use memory only for the tabs that we use like in Firefox.

Google Chrome Extension Button Problem - Blank Screen

Posted on 7:12 AM by Unknown

This "blank screen with black borders" problem showed up the past few days, whenever I clicked Google+ button or any Extension button, all I saw was a blank transparent window screen like the above picture. I wasn't sure what was causing the problem. It seems this is an ongoing issue and the developers are trying to fix this problem with an update for Dev, Beta and Stable Chrome browser versions.

I use Chrome 27.0.1430.3 beta-m version in PC with Windows 7 64-bit OS.

One user in Google forum suggested to remove all extensions and enable it one by one.   But that solution didn't work. However, thanks to Google+ user +Fynali Iladijas I was able to overcome this problem. Fynali suggested the following solution:

One advice I have for you is to install Chrome stable as well as Chrome Canary build on the same machine, enable sync-everything in Chrome options, and use Canary build full-time. When things break, switch to stable for that particular task.

That way you can enjoy the bleeding-edge developments (nightly, in fact!), and be assured you have a stable build at hand for that rare occasion...

After I installed the Canary Build, I don't see the above problem anymore, the extensions work fine now.

You can download Canary Build browser (https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/getting-involved/dev-channel) and use either of the Stable, Beta or Dev versions at the same time, we can move from one to another without affecting our Google bookmarks, extensions settings. In Canary build, we can only use one profile at a time however.
