The Travel feature is not working now but the other main weather & fashion tabs are working fine. Nice app to have in Smartphones or Tablets.
Once you download the app, select the sex, boy or girl, the app does the rest.

A good comparison of map apps from Google, Apple and Nokia. While Google Maps is available in all the three operating systems (iOS, Android OS and Windows Phone OS), the other two are exclusive for their own OS (Nokia available only for Windows Phone OS and Apple maps for iOS only).
“iPhone 5 with Apple Maps, Nexus 4 with Jelly Bean and Google Maps and Nokia Lumia 920 with Windows Phone 8 Nokia Maps Test Comparison. Local search, augmented reality, turn by turn navigation and maps coverage - we go through mapping and directions features on each to see which comes out top.”

There was a recent story that there were significant increase in the radiation levels in Indiana and Michigan borders. It is not clear whether the story is real or not, till then you can use this Android app, EMF Hazards Detector, to check the EMF (electromagnetic field) levels near your area. I checked the North Carolina area, it shows safe level.
When the level exceeds a certain limit it gives an alarm and changes color to red as shown below.
- There's a heated debate as to what electromagnetic field (EMF) level is considered safe, and you'll have to decide for yourself.
- Simple fact: earth natural magnetic field is between 30 and 70 u Tesla (350 to 700 m Gauss). 1 u Tesla = 10 m Gauss.
- Is your home EMF hazards free? You can buy a Gauss meter to measue the accurate value. However, your smart phone can also be converted as a simple Gauss meter.
- This applicaiton will sound the alarm once the abnormal EMF field is detected. The screen color will also turn from health green to danger red. So scan your home now...

Sony launched the Music Unlimited app(currently not yet available in the US, but will be soon) for iOS today, it has two subscription services, one for $3.99 per month and the other for $9.99 per month. The latter has more features than the former such as creating playlists, adding songs to library, on demand playback etc.
You can test drive it for 30 days before purchase in iOS as well as in Android (for Smartphone and for Tablet version).
I pay about $40 a year for Pandora, the Sony Unlimited seems to be a better option but I like the way Pandora recommends music.

This "Send to Kindle" feature was introduced a few months ago but the documents were restricted to be sent to Kindle Reader only, it didn't allow to be read in your Kindle apps in smartphone or tablets. Now, Amazon has added this new feature, where you can send documents to any Kindle app, be in a Smartphone (Android or iOS) or in a Tablet (Android Tablets or iPad).
I tried this feature today and I was able to send documents easily. We can send it either from the folder option by right clicking the mouse and choosing "Send to Kindle" or use the print function in documents and selecting "Send to Kindle" as shown in the below images:
Send Documents to Kindle from Folders.
Send Documents to Kindle from Application.
To do this, download the main application from Amazon from this link and select the document you want to send to your Kindle from either the folders or from the Word or other applications. Once you click the "Send to Kindle", you will be given an option to which app you want to send the documents to whether to your Smartphone, laptop or Tablets. Once you select that the document will download in the background and you can see that document in the "Docs" section in the Kindle app.

Tiny Flashlight + LED is one of a number of flashlight apps that are available in Android Market, but this app seems to have a brighter light than others plus it has an option to start the flashlight program without fumbling for the keyboard to type in our password-protected phones.
Once you install the app, go to the app's settings and go to "LED Light" and in the "Shake on Lock Screen" option and set it to "ON" option. Now you can start the app by just shaking the phone.
In HTC Droid Incredible, I had to set the "Shake: Sensitivity" setting very high to make it work, but still it is much better than typing the words and numbers in the dark.
Plus, it has more flashlight options in the main screen as shown in the video.

Google Translate app for Android is a very good translation app to use if you travel frequently overseas, but the only problem is it needs a data connection, which becomes expensive overseas. MobiLearn, another translation app for Android, on the other hand works fine offline as well. It is not as comprehensive as Google Translate but gives a list of expressions and their translations in French, German, Italian and Spanish languages. Today, MobiLearn premium app is free in Amazon.
Some of the main features of MobiLearn are:
- See and hear phrases in 5 different European languages
- Learn over 400 common expressions
- Repeat phrases over and over for help memorizing
- Use Autoplay to immerse yourself in another language
- Developed by professional teams of native speakers

For the past few days there has been a big controversy whether Carrier IQ, a small app installed by the phone carriers is spying on the Android phone user's activities.
To see whether you have Carrier IQ installed in your Android phones, use the free Voodoo Carrier IQ app.
Also, install the spyware and security app, Lookout, which does a decent job in issues like this reported one.

This pro version app "Season Zone HD" costs $1.99 but is well worth it, the wall paper is lively with nice pictures in the background. It has too many settings you can play with to get the best wall paper for your Android phone. The best part of the app is that you can change the wall paper based on the seasons instead of getting stuck with just one wall paper.
Enjoy every season in a peaceful park surrounded by the blossoming of new life. Formerly known as Spring Zen, Season Zen includes Spring, Summer, and Autumn / Fall themes - three wallpaper themes for the price of one! Now with many new improvements, including time of day support, auto camera pan, enchanted forest Maple and Autumn themes, butterflies, tons of customization, and more. Winter theme coming soon!
