How to Merge Two Video Files in Windows?

It is as simple as ‘drag and drop’ method to merge two video files, that is what I found out. I used two programs, Windows Live Movie Maker and Avidemux. Both are freeware and it will help merge a variety of video files, AVI, MP4 and many more.

With Windows Live Movie Maker, it is just a drag and drop method. Grab the file you want to merge and drop it in the blank window space inside the program. Click the end of that video file, drag the other video file and drop it next to the video file you added. Click "Save Movie" in file menu to complete the project. You can use similar methods to merge picture and audio files.

In case of Avidemux, go to File --> click “Open” to open the first file --> next go to the File menu and click “Append” to open the second file. It automatically adds the second file to the end of the first file. Click “Save” to merge the two files. Plus in Avidemux the file merging is superfast.

Both are excellent programs, in case of Windows Live Movie Maker it only saves the resultant file in .WMV format, whereas in Avidemux the files are preserved in their original formats.
