Just log on to your Windows Live (Hotmail) account from this Microsoft SkyDrive storage link and you will see the button at the top of your account page like in the picture above “SkyDrive’s free storage is changing - claim your free 25GB” link. Click that link to upgrade it from the previous storage option 7GB to 25GB.
There are no requirements for this upgrade, so you can straight away get upgraded it to 25GB storage option in SkyDrive.
After you click the link, you will see four options like the below picture, choose the first one to get upgraded to 25GB for free.
I don’t use SkyDrive that much but still will become handy when we want to send large files later to your friends or contacts.
Google is also planning to launch Google Drive soon. Rounding up other storage options, Box.com has free 50GB option in Android Market and Dropbox has 2GB free storage option.
