Paperman - Full Animated Short Film
Posted on 3:19 PM by Unknown
Nice animation work from John Kahrs for Disney.
"Introducing a groundbreaking technique that seamlessly merges computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques, first-time director John Kahrs takes the art of animation in a bold new direction with the Oscar®-nominated short, "Paperman." Using a minimalist black-and-white style, the short follows the story of a lonely young man in mid-century New York City, whose destiny takes an unexpected turn after a chance meeting with a beautiful woman on his morning commute. Convinced the girl of his dreams is gone forever, he gets a second chance when he spots her in a skyscraper window across the avenue from his office. With only his heart, imagination and a stack of papers to get her attention, his efforts are no match for what the fates have in store for him. Created by a small, innovative team working at Walt Disney Animation Studios, "Paperman" pushes the animation medium in an exciting new direction."

Bank Simple adds more security features in iOS app
Posted on 4:19 PM by Unknown
Bank Simple has added some essential features in their iOS app such as notifications for every transaction that takes place in our bank accounts and also added an important feature that is blocking the card in one click (if the card gets lost or when it is misused).
At Simple, we're all about reducing worry when it comes to your money. And if you’ve ever lost your card, you probably know a thing or two about worry.
Well, worry no more: you can now temporarily suspend use of your Simple card all on your own! Just open the Simple web app or Simple for iPhone, and with a few clicks or taps, you can breathe a sigh of relief.
Want more security? We've also begun sending push notifications whenever there's a deposit or credit to your account. Within a few moments of the activity, you'll see a quick message with some info about your transaction. This way, if something fishy ever happens, you'll know right away!
For more on these features, read our announcement. You should also make sure your iPhone app is updated and push notifications are enabled!
Worry less, spend smarter, and enjoy!
-The Team at Simple
Hope to see this in their Android app also.

How to feel less tired when you travel by car
Posted on 8:13 AM by Unknown
I recently read an article in Speaking Tree in Times of India, and there it suggested, that if you want to feel less tired during travel, it offered a variety of tips including one simple exercise, rock sideways for a few times. First, I didn't believe this but then I always try it once to see if it works or not. I've been travelling long distances recently and I tried this tip at least four times. And it really works to my surprise. Usually I take frequent breaks when I travel but for these four trips of about two hours each, I did just this exercise and nothing else and it worked.
Give it a try and see it works for you or not.
I also do this when I sit long for prayers or meditation, it is useful there also.
Unfortunately I couldn't find the original source of that article but if I find it I will add it here.

How to fix Google Chrome Browser error 'Download was not a CRX'
Posted on 8:23 AM by Unknown
I recently started a new user account in Google Chrome browser and tried to add extensions from Chrome Store but it was showing the below error "Download was not a CRX" whenever I tried to install the extension.
Thankfully there is a solution or solutions for this error. Like the article says you can fix this error via two methods, one by logging on to your Google account and then installing the extension or extensions and the second solution is by opening the extension in "incognito" mode and installing it from there.

How to Merge Two Video Files in Windows?
Posted on 7:43 AM by Unknown
Avidemux Window Screen |
With Windows Live Movie Maker, it is just a drag and drop method. Grab the file you want to merge and drop it in the blank window space inside the program. Click the end of that video file, drag the other video file and drop it next to the video file you added. Click "Save Movie" in file menu to complete the project. You can use similar methods to merge picture and audio files.
In case of Avidemux, go to File --> click “Open” to open the first file --> next go to the File menu and click “Append” to open the second file. It automatically adds the second file to the end of the first file. Click “Save” to merge the two files. Plus in Avidemux the file merging is superfast.
Both are excellent programs, in case of Windows Live Movie Maker it only saves the resultant file in .WMV format, whereas in Avidemux the files are preserved in their original formats.

Video: Don't You Worry Child (Swedish House Mafia) Cover by Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider
Posted on 5:00 PM by Unknown
"Don't You Worry Child" by Swedish House Mafia Lyrics:
Available in iTunes.
There was a time
I used to look into my father's eyes.
In a happy home
I was a king, I had a golden throne.
Those days are gone, now the memories are on the wall.
I hear the songs from the places where I was born.
Upon the hill across the blue lake,
That's where I had my first heartbreak.
I still remember how it all changed.
My father said,
"Don't you worry, don't you worry, child.
See heaven's got a plan for you.
Don't you worry, don't you worry now."
Yeah!
"Don't you worry, don't you worry, child.
See heaven's got a plan for you.
Don't you worry, don't you worry now."
Yeah!
There was a time
I met a girl of a different kind.
We ruled the world,
I thought I'd never lose her out of sight.
We were so young, I think of her now and then.
I still hear the songs reminding me of a friend.
Upon the hill across the blue lake,
That's where I had my first heartbreak.
I still remember how it all changed.
My father said,
"Don't you worry, don't you worry, child.
See heaven's got a plan for you.
Don't you worry, don't you worry now."
Yeah!
Oh, oh, oh!
Oh, oh, oh!
See heaven's got a plan for you
[Live version repetitions:]
See heaven's got a plan for you
See heaven's got a plan for you
"Don't you worry, don't you worry, child.
See heaven's got a plan for you.
Don't you worry, don't you worry now."
Yeah!
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh! [3x]
Yeah!

How to keep your back free from aches and pains
Posted on 10:40 AM by Unknown
There are number of solutions in the web but I find the below method effective and also a preventive method to stop backaches in the future.
1. Sit Upright:
Sit upright in the chair (about 100 to 120 degrees from the thigh or from the floor) in a relaxed position like the one show below. Don't droop over or lean sideways or put legs on the desk, all these add pressures to your back.
2. Do Meru Mudra:
While sitting in a relaxed position (not stiff) do the Meru Mudra in both hands with the hands resting on the thighs. Lift your thumb up and fold the rest of the fingers touching the palm.
3. Chant Mantra:
Inhale for four counts, hold for one count, exhale for five counts and hold for one count. Do this 40 to 50 times in the morning. Entire spinal cord will be strengthened.

While you do the Meru Mudra, chant the mantra "Valla'bam Gaja'Nanam Yeka Thand'am" or you can listen to the chant recording available here. This mantra makes us understand the importance of time, to know more about it, click this link here.
4. Do Pranayama breathing exercise:
Breathe in and breathe out through the nose in the following manner:
Inhale for four counts, hold for one count, exhale for five counts and hold for one count. Do this 40 to 50 times in the morning. Entire spinal cord will be strengthened.
I do this exercise without the hold step, but the above step is the right method.
The whole steps 1 to 4 takes about three to four minutes, your back soon feel refreshed. The remainder of the day, try to hold your seating postition shown in Step 1.
I have been doing this for more than a year, I do this first thing in the morning along with other Yoga exercises.
For other Mudras and their uses click here.

How to remove contact lens the right way
Posted on 10:30 AM by Unknown
The video is in Chinese language, but the method is self-explanatory. This is how you remove the lens:
Pull the eyelids either side with your fingers and then blink your eyes, the lens pops out easily.
Whereas the method we normally use, we may poke our eyes or hit the eye lids with the nails accidentally. Try the above method the next time when you want to take your contact lens off and leave a comment if it works good or not.

Video: Concrete Blonde - Mexican Moon
Posted on 9:17 AM by Unknown
Great song.
Concrete Blonde - Mexican Moon Lyrics
“Oh, amigo
Here we do things slow
Money, art, a broken heart
Where did you want to go
Senor, por favor
To the hotel, zona rosa
What did I come here for
Oh, senor
I run but the damage has been done
Miles have gone away
And my amore he never come
I look up at the sky
I am tired and dry
Uno tecate and lime.
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moon
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moon
Senor, you are wise
I can see a million years
A million tears behind your eyes
Take me home
Take me to the zona rosa
Mariachis and tequila
I will dance the night alone
Just some time
Just a little kiss of mine
Take me where I can forget, senor
You are so very kind
I look up at the sky
I am tired and dry
Dos tecate and lime
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moon
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moon
I look up at the sky
I will try not to cry
Tres tecate and lime
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moon
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moon
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moon
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you underneath the Mexican moon”

Make Beautifully Browned Fish Without Risk of Overcooking
Posted on 7:21 AM by Unknown
Use these four tips from America's Test Kitchen to get the best cooked fish the next time. Please note you will need an oven-safe pan like it to try this method.
1.) Cut the fish filets into 1 inch sizes
2.) Sprinkle little sugar on one side of the fish
3.) Sear the sugar side of the fish (helps keep the interior side moist)
4.) Flip the fish side and roast them in the oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit
You will get a nice brown cooked fish.

How to keep French press coffee hot longer?
Posted on 12:08 PM by Unknown
Bodum Chambord French Press Coffee Maker |
1. First, add a cup of water more than you use for making coffee in either the kettle or any other pot.
Water Kettle |
3. Pour half or more cup into the press and leave it for a minute and rinse the whole inside with that water and pour it out.
4. Pour little water into the cup and shake the cup and pour the water out.
5. Pour the remaining water in the French press with the coffee grounds at the bottom and prepare the coffee the usual manner.
Pour the prepared coffee into the cup, it will be warmer than the coffee you made before without these steps. This method is similar to the Chinese tea making process but there they repeat the steps 3 to 4 a few times.
